The Astra Tech booth

Hands on experience

Freedom is definitely the main feeling you get when visiting the booth. In the restorative area, the European launch of Atlantis™ patient-specific abutments for all major implant systems takes place. Here we also demonstrate the possibility to use the Lava™ Scan ST System from 3M ESPE for Atlantis abutments.
In the surgical and scientific area the Astra Tech Implant System™ is the main focus. On Wednesday morning, the scientific evidence for maintaining the marginal bone was presented by Dr Charlotte Almgren at the Speakers’ Corner. This presentation gave strong proof to the unique Astra Tech BioManagement Complex™. The booth also allows dental clinicians, technicians and other members of the dental team to meet, interact and discuss the latest advancements in dental implantology as well as get hands on experience with the assistance of our knowledgeable Astra Tech staff.

Speakers

On Wednesday afternoon two speakers outlined the benefits of Atlantis for dental clinicians and technicians to large and enthusiastic audiences.
Mr Svein Thorstensen, MDT, presented two case studies showing the improved esthetic results that you can get using Atlantis abutments. As Mr Thorstensen said “Atlantis is setting a new standard for abutments – you get more function and more esthetics”.

Mr Chris Waldrop

Mr Chris Waldrop, CDT, presented the impact that Atlantis has had on his dental laboratory. He stated that by shifting production of all abutments from his laboratory to Atlantis he was able to free up skilled technicians for other roles and improve revenue and profits. Mr Waldrop went on to say that through the use of Atlantis his laboratory had been able to supply consistent premium custom abutments in a variety of materials for clients across multiple implant systems. Following his talk Mr Waldrop stated that Atlantis “fulfilled the promise” in providing consistent abutments using less man hours, therefore improving cost efficiency.

A number of other presentations are scheduled during IDS and will cover topics such as the unlimited restorative possibilities with Atlantis (Dr Julian Osorio, the innovator of the Atlantis solution) and new findings in biomechanics (Dipl.-Ing. Holger Zipprich).
After resorbing all that the booth could offer, many of the visitors stay at the Astra Tech café to relax and experience a coffee culture at its best by Swedish baristas.
