Advanced surgical techniques in implantology (international course)

For doctors experienced in implant surgery who wish to extend their knowledge and skills into more advanced surgical procedures.

Through dissections on human cadavers you will learn to identify major anatomical structures. Guided by reflection and anatomical knowledge, the participants will learn how to perform advanced implant surgery and how to select cases suitable for different surgical techniques. Post operative handling of complications will be discussed. Advanced surgical techniques will be demonstrated and also performed by the participants on cadavers.

Practical part on cadavers

Video demonstrations:

  • Dissection of the cheek for identification of sensitive anatomical structures such as the facial artery, facial vein, the buccal nerve, sub mental atery, etc.
  • Immediate implant placement and temporization in extraction sockets (circumferential and buccal defects)
  • Bone harvesting from the chin and the retromolar area
  • Soft tissue management for bone grafting in the posterior mandible
  • Dissection of mental nerve
  • Maxillary sinus grafting and implant placement
  • Onlay graft technique in the anterior maxilla
  • Soft tissue management and suturing technique
  • Dissection of lingual nerve

Hands-on Training on Cadavers:

  • Immediate implant placement and temporization in extraction sockets (circumferential and buccal defects)
