Every millimeter counts

As a clinician you know that, for the individual patient, a marginal bone loss of 1 millimeter can be the difference between success and failure, especially in compromised cases with limited amount of bone from the start.

In the molar region, 1 millimeter can be the difference between being able to replace function or not. In the esthetic zone, as little as 0.5 millimeter can be the difference between a healthy, natural soft tissue and a black triangle between the teeth. And let’s not forget that a patient might have a different view of the esthetic zone than a clinician has. For a patient the esthetic zone might be everything you can see when they smile and laugh. We encourage dental professionals to challenge old truths and demand more of their implant system, both in terms of documentation and results, all for the long-term benefit of the patient.
